Retro returns.

RETRO RETURNS
So before I start my blog post, I just wanted to wish you all a happy and healthy new year! and to enjoy the first page of a 365 page book! So now lets take it back to the 1960's and 70's. As seen on many catwalks including Gucci (70's),versace (60's).The 60's and 70's have made a bold come back, forcing a large impact on fashion, as many garments express a strong retro feel, orginating from these times. This has totally got me falling in love with these distinctive era's. I think there both perfect trends that allow you to push some boundaries that you wouldn't otherwise. As the clothes are soaked in "stand out" vibes, which are going to be perfect for the upcoming festivals. Obviously the main pieces of clothing which we associate with these era's are the mini skirts, which you probably have in your wardrobe without even being aware that they originated from these times. The turtle neck, which personally I am loving this winter and am wearing them most days but in different colours and shaped tops (in fact I actually wore one last night for New Years Eve). All these staples have been in trend for many seasons but have been incorporated in different ways such as using lighter or bulkier materials depending on the season. Also the iconic bell bottom trousers these are amazing and totally express a bohemian feel. I think the 70's and 60's are so versatile, as there are many different trends and looks that were involved in these expressive years. So you can create outfits that represent different styles and that are suitable for different occasions.

Above all Gucci

Versace

Above, all versace.
